I traded in my old HP Officejet for the 8500. It had been a VERY reliable workhorse for the last 5 years, so I felt confident in heading to HP for a replacement. However, based on the previous reviews saying that it was noisy and jammed I was unsure. Working out of a home office where I print approximately 100-150 pages per day in color and black/white I needed a great printer. So, I travled to Office Depot and Staples to get more information, I found that all of the clerks recommended the 8500 immediately and assured me that everyone that purchased this printer loved it. My last piece of research brought me to Consumer Reports that listed the Officejet 8500 in it's Top 5 printers. So, I ordered the printer from Amazon at a ridiculously AWESOME price and have been using the printer for approximately 1 month. Well...........it's terrific. Super easy to set up, prints much faster than my last printer, is significantly quieter than all my previous printers, and is very easy to use. The additional tray that holds legal size paper has made my life much easier. Quality of print is fantastic and replacing the ink cartridges is going to be much simpler.
