I loved the Laminator! Used it to do about 65 4x6 'Flash Cards' and numerous letter-size documents. Takes a few minutes to heat up, but works very well! I was most pleased with the process and results! Unlike the older laminators, the colors came out vibrant and the pouches are completely clear after heating. I don't think these will yellow over time.
Unfortunately, I cut one of the letter-size pouches to do only 3 small cards. The material completely wrapped around the roller before I realized what was happening! I tried the release lever, but it did nothing. That is when I realized how important it is to follow directions! Trying to save money cost me the machine! The cards I was laminating: Social Security, Medicare and Insurance cards!
NOTE: This laminator cannot be opened to retrieve any document that may have completely wrapped around the roller. 3M/Scotch will be happy to have you return the item to them and they will try to retrieve cards for you. The Customer Service Rep was extremely pleasant and helpful. They do not fix it so you can open it easily because of the heated roller (fear of client getting burned). Found out [after I completely destroyed (pliers to the plastic!) the machine to get to the roller & cards] that there are 4 more screws under the 'rubber' feet. Maybe I could have saved my laminator if I had known that early on.
I will buy another laminator this week and look forward to following the company's directions! Lesson learned!
