I must admit I do not have hours and hours of experience with this little recorder to back up my review. I can only say that in my experience thus far I am very pleased with it. I do not find it difficult to use, as I believe a few reviewers may have said (it's been a couple of months since I read the reviews) and the sound quality seems great for what I need. I have used it to archive thoughts on the spur of the moment, to record interviews with people that were later to be transcribed to the written word, and to record the sounds of the outdoor environment around me when I spent a couple of months living in a meadow at an ecovillage (coyotes, owls, crickets, and frogs during the nighttime, for instance).
