I do not know how this product performs as a laser, because I cannot get it to work. The laser takes two AAA-batteries. However, inside one half of the battery compartment, there is a metal ring that just prevents the removal of the batteries. I naively used the cheap AAA batteries that came with the unit, and they did not function. Now I cannot remove them, due to this insane design flaw. There are other similar lasers available through Amazon, perhaps it may be wise to consider those alternatives.
