I bought this phone primarily because I needed a two-line answering machine and it's far cheaper to buy one with a phone. The answering machine is great -- good sound, easy to use, allows erasure of just one message at a time.

The sound on the handsets is not good -- it's as if someone has tried too hard to capture every sound and all that background sound competes with the voice, making it difficult to hear.
